Epiphanius Ancoratus 117

In order that we do not, through pen and paper, make for ourselves the testimonies of the many so far removed from our purpose, we simply want to warn people of the Sabellians. The truth of the matter there is this testimony and the other is the testimony of Jordan we want to talk about. For the Son came in alongside Jordan and truly became the God-Man, not turning into a man, but God taking on flesh, not via the sperm of a man, but from the Holy Virgin, He took up a body, through the Holy Spirit, He took a perfect body, which is a perfect man with a body and a soul. So God and man were with John in the Jordan, the One and the same Christ and Son and Lord. The Father from above testifies, the One who came into this new way of being in Jordan, This is my beloved Son. And the Holy Spirit looking like a dove, came down upon Him into the water, so that it shows proof of His purity because those who are intending to be baptised did so in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. The Arians and those before him should be satisfied when the Son says, I am in the Father and the Father in me. For right here he shows proof of the equality of the Son to the Father as genuine. Whereas what has sprung up from the Arians is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. They have two testimonies previously along with what has already been said which are more than satisfactory. One of those before came from Daniel which says:  in the furnace, Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego, praising God and everything in God’s creation saying, “Bless the Lord and all the works of the Lord.” They counted the heavens and the angels and the moon and the sun and the powers, the earth and the sea and everything in them, and nowhere did they count the Son and the Holy Spirit together as part of creation. The Seraphim count the Trinity as equally Holy, not twice, not four times but holy three times.
